The Saulges Caves Valley currently has 22 known caves, including the Margot Cave, Rochefort, Mayenne-Sciences and the Goat Cave.

Discovering the Mayenne-Sciences cave

In the 19th century, excavation were carried out in this cavity, which was called at the time the Dérouine Cave, because prehistoric remains were present. However, the searches did not provide access to the cavity.

 

It's only by 1967, thanks to the Mayenne-Sciences speleological section, a official from the cave was the discovery of. So the cavity has been renamed: Mayenne-Sciences Cave!

 

This cave contains real treasures including several prehistoric drawings dating back more than 25 years. This makes Mayenne-Sciences a place of extreme fragility that must be protected at all costs. protecting, it is therefore inaccessible to the public. But dear speleologists, it is possible to venture there in virtual reality, for a total immersion in the heart of Prehistory!
