In Situ – Open-air exhibition

As you stroll through this village, you'll be captivated by the works installed here and there, each one as surprising and fantastic as the last! While some of them have become permanent residents, others are temporarily installed during the summer holidays. In July and August, the village comes alive to the rhythm of these works proposed by more than forty artists.

An ancient road to the origins of the city

Rather unusually, the village of Saint-Pierre-sur-Erve was not built around its church like most of the surrounding towns, but rather around a Roman road that connected Laval to Le Mans. Because of this configuration, the religious buildings are located on the outskirts of the village, but these remarkable buildings are nevertheless worth a visit!

The Saint-Sylvain Chapel

Perched on a hill a few meters from the village, this 6th century chapel overlooks the Erve Valley.

The story goes that a hermit from Aquitaine retired here, at the top of the wooded hill, making this chapel a place of pilgrimage.
