The flame shines at Sainte-Suzanne

On May 29, Sainte-Suzanne vibrated to the rhythm of the Olympic flame through its streets. More than 3 people came to witness this historic moment!

The flame, which started from the Maxime Létard hall at 12:10 pm, arrived in the castle courtyard around 13 pm. A total of 3,2 kilometers were covered by the relay runners selected for their commitment, their contribution to the community or for their sporting performances.

The Olympic Torch Relay

A sporty and festive morning

Around a hundred students , from all over the Coëvrons region, ran through the town before the torch relay. Setting off from the Perrine Dugué school around 9:30 am and cheered on by their parents and the public, they finished their relay around 11 am in the courtyard of the Château.

The Banda Suzanne brought a festive atmosphere with catchy music throughout the morning.

A lively Olympic village

Some examples of what was on offer at the various stands of the Olympic minivillage, Place Ambroise de Loré:

  • Cooperative games organized by the Olympic Games Committee
  • Discovery of the museum of Saulges caves
  • Tasting chocolates from the BIM chocolate factory
  • Discovery of the Coëvrons at the Tourist Office stand
  • Photobooth of the Coëvrons Community of Communes

The food stalls were also very popular. Visitors were able to enjoy a wide variety of culinary options!

  • Fries and toast offered by the Caf&Couette restaurant
  • Refreshment bar of the Médiéville53 association

Entertainment at the Castle

The children enjoyed the activities offered throughout the day within the castle grounds. They were able to try various sports , participate in knightly combat , and dress up in medieval costumes . The zip line crossing the castle courtyard was a big hit with the younger children!

The climbing federation took the opportunity to give climbing demonstrations which did not go unnoticed when the flame arrived at the castle!

A day HISTORY

Despite the unpredictable weather, this event will remain etched in our memories as a day of celebration , sport and conviviality!
