Le Beugy Camp, established by the English garrisons during this period, is therefore the vestige of a camp more than 900 years old, recalling that Sainte-Suzanne remains the only city to have stood up to William the Conqueror.
The camp was surrounded by a palisade and a ditch, which can still be seen today. Covering an area of nearly 2,5 hectares, it consists of two rectangular fortifications, separated by a ditch and surrounded by moats, the outlines of which can still be seen after almost 1000 years!
