CHAPELLE NOTRE DAME DE LA SALETTE
The Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette chapel was built on the ruins of a Romanesque chapel dedicated to Saint Sebastian. It is located in the current cemetery.
The Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette chapel is made of granite, grained stone, and lime plaster. Its history begins after the pilgrimage of the priest of Trans to La Salette. Upon his return, the priest decided to build a chapel to the glory of the Virgin. It was built on the ruins of a Romanesque chapel. Its octagonal architecture, measuring 7,30 meters on each side, gives it a truly original appearance. The chapel's bell tower bears a statue of the Virgin. Since September 29, 1858, the date of its blessing, the Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette chapel has become a place of pilgrimage. Free access.
