On the road to Hambers, just outside Bais, stands the Château de Montesson, a building whose construction spanned the 14th to the 17th century. Surrounded by a moat, the castle consists of a 16th-century gatehouse, the former medieval seigneurial residence, and the main building built in the 17th century. The entrance pavilion is remarkable for its roof with countercurved corners on all four sides, its granite façade adorned with the coat of arms of the Montesson family, and its round tower with a bulbous slate roof. (Only visible from the road, except on heritage days).
