EGLISE SAINT GEORGES À GESNES
Romanesque in style, rebuilt in 1875 to the plans of an Irish architect, Hawke, which explains the presence of a honeycomb bell tower and the presence of Celtic crosses.
It was also in the 19th century that the church square was redeveloped: the cemetery surrounding the old Romanesque church was moved to the outskirts of the village. Tombstones are still visible in the square along an avenue lined with lime trees as well as under the 18th-century baptismal font placed inside the church. Note the three stained-glass windows that adorn the choir of the church dedicated to St. George. They were made at the beginning of the 3th century by the Lorin workshop in Chartres.
