LAVOIR DE GESNES
Built at the end of the 19th century, it features beautiful brick arcades and schist stones.
A square basin fed by an abundant spring allowed twelve washerwomen to gather together, kneeling in their "carriage". An elegant washhouse, where the washerwomen gathered every week, which punctuated the life of the village for almost a century.
It is located on the road leading to Saint Ouen des Vallons, 50m from the entrance to the village. This washhouse is shaped like an impluvium. Rainwater flows into a square-shaped basin.
The water also comes from a spring with a high flow rate. There are three doors with brick keystones.
