Come and discover archaeological collections and digital installations related to prehistory at the Museum of Prehistory.

Located at the gateway to the Coëvrons-Mayenne region, a designated "Land of Art and History," the Museum of Prehistory invites you to discover the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods through archaeological collections unearthed in the Mayenne department. The museum particularly showcases discoveries made in the Erve Valley, notably in caves, thanks to recent excavations.

For millennia, human presence and activity have depended on fluctuations in climate and the evolution of flora and fauna. This close link between humans and nature is explained throughout the exhibition and detailed in the temporary section: "Humans Facing Climate from Prehistory to the Present Day."

Various interactive devices offer you the opportunity to immerse yourself in Prehistory: digital content, a digital tour of the Mayenne-Sciences cave, a video game…
