An illuminated Christmas at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Thorn

From December 5, 2025 to January 4, 2026 , the Basilica will be illuminated every 45 minutes from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM . Projections will take place Tuesday through Sunday at 6:00 PM, 6:45 PM, 7:30 PM, 8:15 PM, and 9:00 PM. On December 24, projections will be at 8:00 PM, 8:30 PM, and 9:00 PM. On December 31, projections will be every 45 minutes until midnight.

An unmissable event this winter where heritage, technology, and poetry come together to illuminate the city of Evron. This 17-minute 2025 creation will immerse viewers in a visual and poetic journey at the crossroads of history and light art. This year, the theme highlights light as a common thread between Romanesque and Gothic art. An immersive experience at the heart of Evron's heritage.

Friday, December 5th, starting at 18:30 pm : Lighting Ceremony

The magic of Christmas arrives in Évron with the lighting ceremony at 18:30 pm in Place Mendès-France. Open your eyes wide to discover the town adorned in its most beautiful colors and take a seat in the Christmas village for traditional mulled wine and roasted chestnuts, in a warm and enchanting atmosphere…

Friday, December 12th from 16pm to 21pm & Saturday, December 13th from 11am to 18pm: Christmas market

Immerse yourself in the magic of the holiday season: illuminated chalets, sparkling decorations and unique handcrafted creations await you.
Entertainment, dances, concerts, exhibitions and a funfair will fill the weekend for everyone's enjoyment.
And to conclude this magical moment, witness the spectacular arrival of Santa Claus in a horse-drawn carriage! Come and meet him, take a souvenir photo and entrust him with your most beautiful letter.
